Dubrovnik

We docked in Dubrovnik at 8 am and took a shuttle bus over to the old city UNESCO World Heritage Site. We bought tickets to tour the old city Dubrovnik walls on our own.

We spent about two and a half hours walking the walls. The old city of Dubrovnik was hit with shells numerous times during the Yugoslav Wars. There are many new shiny tile roofs because of this. Here is a map of the locations that were damaged.

Then we walked over to Fort Lovrijenac and climbed the stairs to the top. You get great views of the old city from the top.

We then came back to the old city and walked some of the narrow streets and back alleys. We got lunch at a bakery near the Church of the Holy Annunciation.

There is an old Venetian fort on top that is falling apart, but you can see damage in the walls from the fighting in the 1990s.

We took the cable car down and then caught the shuttle to the ship, returning around 5 pm, which was enough time to get cleaned up before dinner.
