Izmir

Today we tour around Izmir. We start at the Agora of Smyrna.

We took the bus up to the Kadifekale viewing point which looks out over Izmir towards the bay.

Then came back down to the ferry terminal and took a ferry across the bay to Karşıyaka walk around and grab a bite to eat. This street is a newer part of Izmir and has nice architecture from the late 1800s and early 1900s. It is also a nice shopping district.

After returning to the hotel it was time to get ready for our final dinner together at a fish restaurant near the bay. This was one of the few restaurants that we had trouble with people smoking, which was a pleasant surprise for the trip, our tour guide did a wonderful job picking places that had good food and not a lot of people smoking. She was able to work with the restaurant to get the table next to us with the smokers nicer seats outside.
