Christmas Trees and Nativities

The Territorial Capital Museum in Lecompton, KS has more than 100 Christmas trees with antique ornaments called Christmas Through the Ages. We went to see them this afternoon.

Many of the trees are small, 2-3 ft tall, but they are everywhere.

Many rooms are quite full, but there are a few places where you can take step back and get an overview photo.

Some ornaments are handmade.

Centenary United Methodist Church in Lawrence has a Festival of Nativities with more than 600 Nativities from around the world. We stopped to see that after the Christmas trees. Many of the Nativies have been donated over the 31 years the display has been running.

There is a large Fontanini set from Italy.

We visited a Santon Museum in Le Baux, France on our Trek Bike tour in 2023. There is a display of Santons here as well.

There are also very modern Nativities that resonate with the kids.
