Chobe National Park Day 1
Today we have a morning and an afternoon wildlife viewing in Chobe National Park.
The dining area is covered but open on the sides. This Crested Barbet was picking through the leftover breakfast toast.
The dining room and our cabins are along the side of a valley.
The Kori Bustard is the national bird of Botswana.
The Helmeted Guineafowl is very common in southern Africa. I saw one in Tunisia earlier this year, it’s uncommon north of the Sahara desert.
We’ve seen the Lilac-breasted Roller everywhere in southern Africa, but it’s such a colorful bird I keep taking photos of it.
We found this leopard along the Chobe River which is the border between Botswana and Namibia to the north, looking out over the river.
