Strahov Monastery

Today is the first day our of tour, but it’s mostly on our own as folks are arriving today. We meet our Program Director this evening.

Donna had lots of walking yesterday, 23,000 steps, so we took the streetcar over to the Strahov Monastery to tour the library.

The Strahov monastery overlooks the Vltava River valley, there are nice views of the Castle and old town on the other side of the river.

Then we walked down the hill to the St. Nicholas church.

We visited the Wallenstein Palace Gardens and saw a dripstone wall built in 1620.

We crossed the Charles bridge and passed through the Old Town Bridge Tower.

Then we walked over to St. Wenceslas square which has a statue to King Wenceslaus in it.

Then we walked to Vyšehrade and to the Basilica of St. Peter and St. Paul right next to it.

We walked over to the streetcar to go back to the hotel. We ended up walking 22,000 steps.
