Barbados

Barbados is an island in the eastern Caribbean.

We dock in Bridgetown at the cruise port terminal. There were several other ships in port, so lots of people in the terminal.

We got off the boat fairly soon after docking, and they were already painting. I think there is someone painting somewhere on the boat 24/7.

Right after we docked, there was a sailing ship that docked next to us.

Donna wanted to go to Harrison’s cave, and the boat originally had tours for it, but they were canceled, because that part of the cave is still not opened back up. The tram tour was running. So we went on our own. We got a taxi and he took us there and then came back to pick us up.

While waiting for our cave tour entry time, we looked for birds. We found the Barbados Bullfinch.

You ride a tram going through the cave and can get off the tram several places. This is the wettest cave either Donna or I have been in. It was dripping everywhere inside the cave, and it was not raining outside.

Because of all the water, the flowstone grows quickly in the cave.

After returning from the cave, we ate lunch on the ship, changed into our swimsuits and walked 1 1/4 miles over to Carlisle Bay to swim.

We saw a few fish and a turtle while swimming, but no photos.
