Iguazu Brazil

We flew from Buenos Aires to Iguazu and went directly to the Brazil side of the falls. After a brief stop to get a late lunch, we walked a trail down to the base of the falls.

Iguazu is at 25° S from the equator, and it rains frequently, so is situated in a rainforest. It was hot (95° F for highs) and humid. We lucked out and our bus drove through some rain on the way there, but it didn’t rain while we were there. Crossing over to the Brazilian side is a bit of a pain, you stop to exit one country, then stop again to enter the other. The guide takes all the passports and gets them stamped at each stop. The wait to enter Argentina the last time was over 30 minutes.

We had an hour and a quarter to walk about a mile down to the falls and get the elevator back up to the waiting bus.

We saw many different butterflies, plants and animals. Here is a tegu.

We ended up near the base of the falls on a walkway that goes out in front of them.

With all the mist and spray in the air, you can get a rainbow.

At the elevator to go up to the waiting bus, there was a coati wandering around, not afraid of people at all.
