Today we settle into the pattern that will repeat for the four different camps that we visit on this trip. We start the day with a 6 am wake-up call, but we can’t leave the tent till the guide comes back to take us to the breakfast area at 6:30 am. Then get in the safari jeeps for our morning game drive at 7 am.

It’s cool overnight, around 50 F in the morning when we get up.

We have a morning and afternoon game drive in Hwange National Park.

We flew Delta through Atlanta to Johannesburg, South Africa. It’s a 16-hour flight from Atlanta to Johannesburg in an Airbus 350. We arrived in the evening and got to the hotel next to the airport at 9 pm. We left the hotel at 7 am to fly to Victoria Falls. Our flights were uneventful.

Today we take a bus at 9 am to visit the twelfth-century Arab-Norman Monreale Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Today we started at 9 am with a bus ride to Cefalù, a beautiful town on the coast. There was road construction on the way that delayed us.

Today we start our walking tour around Palermo at 9:30 am.

Today we start at 8:30 am for a bus ride to Palermo with a stop in Corleone for a walking tour and lunch.

Today we tour the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the valley of the temples in Agrigento.

Today we travel to Agrigento, stopping at the UNESCO World Heritage Site Villa Romana del Casale along the way.

Today we start at 8 am for our trip to Mount Etna. We’ll drive up to the Sapienza Refuge area which has the Silvestri Craters.
