This morning we start with our main portion of the trip, so there is an 8:30 meeting with the trip leader. The Tunisia portion was the pre-trip, with only eight people on it, now we are 34. After the meeting we head into the UNESCO World Heritage Site the city of Valletta to tour for a few hours.

Today we fly to Malta on Tunisia Air. The trip to the airport and through security was uneventful.

Today we drive to Sidi Bou Said which is built somewhat on top of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ancient Carthage.

Then to El Djem museum which contains the mosaics from a few villas in the rich section of the Roman city of Thysdrus. The museum itself is house that was next to the archealogical site and was donated to house the mosaics.

Today we’ve chosen to take the optional day trip to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of El Djem and the old Roman city of Thysdrus.

Today we travel to Hammamet for a short stop to tour the Medina and then continue on to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Kairouan which was the first fully Islamic city in North Africa.

Today we got to breakfast at 7:30 am again for an 8:30 am departure by bus to the old Roman town of Uthina. It is known for its mosaics. Many of the nice mosaics have been moved to the Bardo Museum.
