Today is the first day of our bike trip. We need to meet the Trek Travel bus at the Avignon train station at 11 am.

This is the last day of our first tour. Tomorrow, we would normally fly home.

This morning we take the TGV train to Paris, then a stop at the Eiffel Tower and a boat tour on the Seinne river.

Today we tour Lyon.

There was a navigation problem on the bridge, so we couldn’t sail overnight to Lyon. So we tied up near dusk, and will arrive in Lyon around 4 pm this afternoon.

Today we visit Viviers, a quaint, small medieval town on the riverside hills. It’s only 3600 people.

We started the day with the 7 am stretching class on the top of the boat before breakfast.

We walked to the remains of the Saint-Bénézet Bridge for photos. It was built in the 1200’s and abandoned in the 1600’s due to repeated damage from river flooding.

This morning we leave Arles, France and sail up river to Avignon, with a quick stop to pick up some folks that went on an optional tour to Le Baux and Carrieres de Lumieres. We’ll ride there on our bike tour afterwards, so we skipped it.

At 9:00am there was a walking tour of Arles with a local guide. We went by the coliseum, theater, the city halls from the 13th, 15th and 17th centuries.

This morning we leave Nice, France and travel by bus to Arles, with a short stop at the Rhône American cemetery in Draguignan, France.
