We have seen quite a few street cats in Turkey. There is a movie Kedi about the street cats of Istanbul.

Today we tour around Izmir. We start at the Agora of Smyrna.

We took the optional tour to Pergamon which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Some others had their fill of looking at old city ruins and stayed in Izmir.

This morning we tour Hierapolis which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It’s been famous for soaking in the travertine pools since antiquity.

Today we start with a couple hour drive to Aphrodisias which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Today we visit Ephesus which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There is a cruise ship in the port this morning, so there will be plenty of people there.

We departed from the Gulet in the morning for a bus ride to Kusadasi.

We took a ride across the bay to the Dalyan river and to the ancient city of Kaunos.

The water was glassy smooth at Hammam Bay by Cleopatra’s Baths in the morning before breakfast.

This morning we visited the Greek village Kayaköy that was abandoned in the 1920s after the Greek/Turkey war and exchange of population.
